Spiral Plot 1.0 iPhone App

Spiral Plot is an iPhone App that provides hours of mindless entertainment by drawing images consisting of three winding lines.
The Spiral Plot app only works on iPhones and iTouch. View in App Store. (You might not be able to view the iTunes store if you don't have a mac)

The Graph Area This is where all the fun drawing occurs.
Control Sliders Use these color-coded controls to alter the parameters of the lines drawn. You control which line you alter by selecting the Outer,Middle or Inner tab on the left side. The color of the sliders will change to match the line they control.
Buttons These allow additional control over the drawing. Random is the fun one!
Tabs of pages available
- Plotter Shows the panel on the left.
- Instructions Gives you (very terse) instructions.
- Settings Allows you to alter the colors and line widths. This is covered in more detail below.

The slider controls are how you control the way the lines are drawn. Note that often small changes in the slider position can result in big changes in the image. Place your finger on a slider, and when it 'takes' the corresponding band will appear drawn in white while you are changing it. Simply twisting your finger - not even really sliding it - can result in even more fascinating drawing!
You can think of each path as the trail left by the moon as it revolves around the earth as the earth revolves around the sun. The top slider controls the direction and rate at which the 'earth' moves and the bottom slider controls the direction and rate at which the 'moon' moves. If you manage to get both sliders dead-center the line will stop and appear as a single point.

Button functions:

Random Alters the drawing in a random way. After clicking Random you can continue to 'tweak' the pattern with the sliders.
Clear Erases the graph but the lines continue to draw.
Pause / ReStart Allows you to 'freeze' the drawing process.

Settings page
Click the button of the line you wish to change, and its color and width will be shown in the image towards the top of the screen. These sliders allow to you change the color by specifying the RGB (Red, Green, Blue) components along with altering the line width. The changes take effect as soon as you return to the Plotter page.

Instructions page
The Instructions page gives very minimal instructions on operation of the program. Click the button corresponding to the page you want help on.
