September 11, 1999 - Cabinets!
Yeah, yeah...another 3 web pages done at the same time. (It's actually September 26.) Actually, the only reason they're getting done is because my phone lines went dead so I can't play online. (And the phone company reminds me that we don't have a Maintenence Agreement. Sure, both my phone lines are going to go dead simultaneously because of interior wiring.)
So, as you may have guessed, the
cabinet folks actually did most of the cabinet installation. Joe's
also been very busy installing the ClosetMaid shelving and I've been busy
watching the kids while he does it.

That's just Joe & some old hoe he picked up, hanging out in the
master shower...
Where's a laugh track when you really need one? |

My kitchen pantry with some of Joe's fine installation work. |

More of Joe's fine closet work in one of the bedrooms - Sarah's I think. |

Da Master Bathroom cabinets. We are such "Golden Oak" people
(check out most of our furniture some time) that we decided to go with
something else.
One side for me, one side for Joe... |

Yeah, "Golden Oak" people who decided on "Pickled Maple" for the kitchen. We wanted a lighter wood tone since we expect this area to be very dark. Did I ever mention we are cave dwellers too? |

The rest of the kitchen cabinets. Now I'll have room for my appliance collection. In case you're wondering, the big space is for the fridge and the room off to the right is the Dining Room. |

Crappy picture I admit. I can only go so far back in the other
bathrooms and I remember holding the camera by my shoulder as I knelt with
my back against the opposite wall.
Yes, this is the vanity in one of the other two bathrooms - I think the guest bathroom. Not really important since it's the same set of cabinets in both rooms. |

If you were ever curious how the cabinet folk manage to find the wall studs, consider yourself enlightened! That's right, they just drill holes until they hit actual wood! (Good thing a counter-top will cover the exploration!) |
Well, the painters are waiting for the lovebug infestation to end before they begin work on the baseboards and other trim. (For those of you not familiar with lovebugs, it's a Florida phenomenon. These bugs mate in May & September and swarm attached to each other. Since the screens were taken out to protect them from damage and the back porch not yet completed, the house has been infested with the critters (as well as the ever present mosquitos).
The tile guys are expected to begin work soon. Now
is the time of multiple crews all working inside the house (or so we are
told...).
