tricuspid valve is attached to the
right atrioventricular annulus. It separates the right atrium
from the right ventricle.The atrial surface of the valve, which
coapts or overlaps during systole, is smooth. The opposite or
ventricular side, is roughened by the attachment of the chordae
tendineae.
